WILDWOOD CANTEEN 2025/26

Stephen has already started flooding the rinks, and in just a few weeks we’ll have some of the best outdoor ice in the city. And what goes perfectly with skating? Hot chocolate, chips, sour worms, and a warm, welcoming community space.

Each winter, the Community Centre operates a small canteen. It makes a modest profit, but that’s not the purpose. The canteen keeps us present in the building, available if someone needs a puck or a Band-Aid, and—most importantly—helps us build community.

When you volunteer, you’re hosting a neighbourhood gathering. You’ll meet young kids taking their first wobbly strides, high-schoolers meeting up for shinny, and long-time Wildwood residents lacing up for one more winter. Many of us have made some of our favourite winter memories behind that counter.

If each of us contributes just a few hours, we help keep Wildwood the warm, connected community it has always been.

Canteen Plan for 2025/26

We’ve made a few tweaks this year:

Help your Section Rep (and your community!) by reaching out early to let them know you are available to volunteer.
